In Akron, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across Ohio, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.

Akron is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Akron is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Ohio's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Finally feel like I found an oral surgeon you can trust. Office staff are great. Assistant staff are great. And Dr. Santin is top tier. Would highly recommend.

UPDATE: BEWARE- theyβve attempt to collect an additional payment. My insurance has a negotiate rate with them and has paid out to them and they attempted to collect that rate from me again. I can only imagine 100s of people just pay them because they assume theyβre right. Went in for a consult to remove wisdom teeth. With an extreme fear of dental work found out I wasnβt a candidate for general anesthesia. However instead of the oral surgeon being understand and trying to game plan a solution that would work best he was very harsh, un empathetic , and then proceeded to talk down to me and explain how to brush my teeth. At one point put a dental instrument in my mouth and when I jumped he said that shouldnβt be sensitive. However it wasnβt I was startled. Annoyed I wasted my time going there. After he said my wisdom tooth was βurgentβ and Iβd end up in the hospital if not taken care of soon they proceeded to only be able to get me on the schedule a month and a half later. Thankful to have called my other dentist back and get on their books immediately. Wouldnβt recommend if youβre looking for a kind and knowledgeable dentist. He needs to improve his bedside manner.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! I put off getting my wisdom teeth out for two years because of how scared I was to go under anesthesia and let me tell you, this place did an amazing job with how anxious I was from start to finish! The front desk staff was so kind to me on the phone a week prior as well, because I called asking about how they handle anxious patients and she reassured me and walked me through the whole process again as well as sharing her story of how anxious she was when she did it at that very office before starting to work there which really helped ease my fears. Once I arrived, Dr. Santin and his team did an amazing job with me and even he called me the night of the procedure to check on how I was feeling and answered any remaining questions I had about the healing process. I'm two weeks post op now and I can say that the healing process has been pretty easy and seamless as long as you follow all of the directions that they give you. If you are waiting on your wisdom teeth because you are afraid, this is the place for you! Thank you for everything!

Yesterday I had 2 wisdom teeth and a cracked right lower molar removed. Dr. Santin had performed the procedure, and I have to say that I believe I was in the best of hands. First of all, his effectiveness and efficiency were very obvious when I was awakened and sent home in that, all of this work was completed in 1 hour 40 minutes. I expected a much longer time 'in the chair'. Further, I expected a great deal more pain than I actually had. There is pain, of course but no sharp difficult pain has shown up - just ache, largely. The pain medication given to me does the trick - just OTC painkillers taken in combination and on a regular schedule is keeping me very comfortable. I received a phone call from Dr. Santin in the evening and I really appreciated that as we discussed reasons for medications and need to 'do my part'. I normally do not write these reviews, but I feel Dr. Santin and his team deserve this review. At this stage I could not be happier. Dr Santin and team, thank you so much! Craig L Jorstad
